As a young woman, Andrea Heath traveled extensively and struggled to support herself in New York City, occasionally finding time to sneak into classes at the School of Visual Arts before finally studying art formally and graduating cum laude with a BFA in painting and sculpture from the University of Alaska, Anchorage in 1999. Since then, she has continued to construct and deconstruct in an effort to tell a compelling visual story. Andrea also taught young children for many years, both in elementary after-school art programs and in her own home preschool, before returning to making art full-time. She now resides in Corvallis, Oregon where she cares for adults with developmental disabilities and continues to work as a multi-media artist.
